Politicians ask you to believe their empty promises. Leaders ask you to look at their record. I will continue to fight in Austin for lowering property taxes; capping property tax appraisals; controlling our borders against terrorists and illegal immigrants; and providing a quality education for every student in Texas with a well-paid teacher in every classroom, with quality textbooks, and with up-to-date technology.
A Statesman accomplishes his goals by building coalitions. In Austin, issues are advanced through relationships developed by debating with and listening to others for countless hours. There is no substitute for the ability and experience necessary to build 
coalitions among fellow legislators and to learn the pros and cons of the multitude of important issues addressed in the legislature. Experience does lay a foundation at the beginning of a session when thousands of bills are filed. I have both the relationships and the seniority to continue to be an effective leader in Austin, I have a lifetime of leadership in our community, and I have a legacy of results.
